Old Pattern Tissue Flowers

A couple months ago I had viewed on another blog { of whom I can't place now } a picture of a bunch of flea market pictures of a bunch of different booths... In one of these pictures I noticed a large white pitcher full of flowers that had been made of pattern tissue.... It struck me as I remember making Flowers with Kleenex when I was a child... This kinda struck my fancy... I went down in the recreation room this morning and played around with some pattern tissue I bought this week at the store I mentioned in my earlier post would be going out of business.... I made some larger one's and 3 I used very old black buttons and a couple I placed a vintage brooch in the center ... I had allot of fun creating these.. It was child's play again.. How wonderful it is when you are retired and can have time to play.... I placed these in a pitcher and have them in my living room. The coloring is great with my fall make over....

I remember making tissue flowers too. Not sure if they were like yours or not, but my favorite part was rolling the "petals" around a round pencil and them squishing them left to right to make the curled edges. I haven't made any in years.... Thanks for the flash-back.

ps. WHERE do you get all your great vintage images? Are they printed clip art, actual vintage prints, wrapping paper, or ?? They are so fun!

Hi Tina... In answer to your question about my images... most are old postcards or old prints. I don't use much clipart ... once in awhile I run across some things fun on the internet.... alot of times if you see something cute people are willing to share with you.... I love blogging and love to read them... Right now I am busy working on paper dolls....Have a lovely evening....

That is one of the best ideas EVER! Yea! I am going to make some of those, and attach a ribbon for hanging them. Too cute! Thanks for the idea.
