New Beginnings

As we rested last night ... light showers filled the air and gently watered the new plants we placed in the ground last week. We have most of the stone filled in the area and a border down now... As you can see in the last picture Tom is going to sink some stepping stones in the ground going around the side of the house back to the pool area... I do have the same stepping stones in the back yard going from the deck off the bedroom to the pool that has been in for about 10 years.... I know it is not real fancy but we think it is a large improvement from the original 40 year old... Much cleaner.... Friends of our down the road had landscaping done within the last two years... they have lovely plants and it is pretty but they paid 8000.00.... Tom and I did think for 1500.00. I am well pleased... After all we just have a modest little farm ranch home.... but it is filled with love and small loved treasures and it is my favorite place in the world to be..... The smell of turned over fresh soil from plowing and the fresh rain is filling the air and the sun is gently warming up the day that started out foggy in the earlier hours..... Ps. The little oriental red tree is small but I got it for 12.00....We visited several nurseries before starting this and last week I went to Indiana and we found the perfect oriental red tree about my size.... Oh my gosh, my golly, it was 650.00..... I would have flipped my wig if I would have been wearing one... I walked over to Tom and said we need to leave... we don't belong here and we did.... The little guy I found for 12.00 doesn't show up to much yet but it is about 2/ 1/2 foot and I can watch it grow if God is willing.....

Hi Marietta,
Wonderful job that you and Tom did! I know it is a lot of work so you are probably needing a good rest now. Just lovely!!

What a pretty little garden...I love the pebbles...I'm a big "rock" fan! ;D

Who in their right mind would give so much for a tree?? I know they are lovely, but geez...

I hope yours grows and is the prettiest you ever saw!
