Oh My Gosh... Where Has The Day Went

Oh my the day has just flew by and not much of any pamper went on here today by the time we got the air conditioner in place and the screen in place and had dinner and I just baked some cookies and another hour or so it will be time to eat again. I think we eat too much.....Here today with some imagination and some creativity I wanted to transform something but it didn't happen. I know it is so possible to tranform areas into pretty much a vintage paradise. If living in a newer home you may have to de-modernize to achief the look you would like. Uses of distressed items and old linens can often help you with a desired look. If you are like me you aren't in a position to remodel or purchase a bunch of large items... leaving the use of small objects and vignettes or maybe a hammer to beat things up. Tom doesn't appreciate my extreme tastes in battered, beaten, rusty, chipped, aged patina ect. but I FEED him real good so he tolerates it. Sometimes when someone comments on they think a object is cool , he may even act like he likes it too. LOL. I really amaze myself how I can love something so battered and just love a strong doze of glam at the same time. In my eyes all this adds just the right ingredients... Course the less is more doesn't work for me... I have tried in the past to clean things out and downsize but find myself falling right back into loving objects and filling right back up again, just once again inforcing the fact I love STUFF.... All this allows me a gift to be romantic.. While the designs are slightly less than perfect I think they offer a cozy, charming feel. Remember no matter how little or how hugh... your comfort is aways what makes you happy... This cannot be stressed enough.I hope I will be able to put some time together this week to let myself enjoy a project... Tomorrow is a meeting at a classmates home for our 50th reunion coming in Oct. I have a few decorations to take that I have been working on.. All very simple and I will donate them all.... I need about a week to finish all that also...

Congratulations on the 50th!! Just think how times have changed in our lifetime....It is exciting yet I miss "the good old days" where my Momma was there to comfort & encourage and hearing Elvis grind away..lol I think that is why we love vintage and antique things...it brings back so many memories..blessings to you & to our unending pursuit of purging & cleaning.
