We've Came Along Way Baby

My post lately on being romantic and on aprons seem to be post on a softer times... I believe we need to remember to keep in touch with this side of our self. I am going to be having my 50th class reunion in October and when I look back over those years there have been so, so, many changes for women. I find myself not totally liking all that is taking place. I personally want to be used as a lady... The American family has changed drastically. Younger families are so busy trying to give their children so much that is not needed..... that I believe the whole family is missing out in the process.... The positives are women has been able to secure better jobs... taking them out of the homes...Women do not have to be submissive to every desire of their husband and are able to make choices in matters... women working outside the home has made them less dependent on their husbands, while this is good it has also created many problems. Mothers aren't taking as large of roles rearing the children, believing this is causing the children to loose the softer side of one self. Divorce rates soar...The changes have made families less compassionate... families see each other less. Women have gained respect and independence in many ways as a freedom. They say women are stronger today, I am not sure I agree with that statement... Women will speak out, I am not sure I agree with what is being said... Clothing styles has changed... women use to cover up, now-a-days they should cover up more. I do hope it doesn't get to the point where women no longer deserve to be treated like ladies.... I personally want to be treated as a lady of respect and one that returns the respect to others... Yes, think about it we have came along way baby....

I agree with all that you said ~ sometimes things tend to swing too far in the other direction, I always hope I deserve to be treated like a lady.

So very true!!! When a man stops to open a door for me at the store it is the exception. I always look them in the eyes and say "Thank you, SIR" they always say "you are welcome". Common curtesies are making way for independence...sad thought.
