Musings

Expressing your personal feelings and sharing of memories shows in one's decorating. My personality does not feel welcome in a home that is so modern, lack of objects, and sterile. I like when every things may not be so perfect... as most things in life aren't. I have been searching for some french feed sacks on the net. Have found some great looking ones but I don't want and won't pay the amount wanted for one's I have found so far. I need to exercise some patience.. Sometimes I wish I would get these ultimate little luxuries out of my mind... I seem to always have a vision of a few things I would love to do and have after Christmas. When spring arrives I don't seem to dwell on the house as much as I enjoy the outdoor spaces and plantings. It is funny how our lives change with time. When I was young I would not have thought of displaying the aged patina of silver I have in my home now. The more aged the more I love it. That's a good thing as I always hated that pink paste and black hands and smell. I just love the idea of objects of the past residing in the present. I know this isn't for everyone, but it sure makes me very content. I would appreciate it , while surfing the net you find some french accents , if you would share it with me. It is some what tough to remain on a tight budget and still stay on tract of something you love.....Have a lovely evening all......

My sister has a home that looks like an ad in a magazine. Very sterile & uninviting.....
I love my home that is full of kitties & heirlooms & probably too much "stuff". BUT I love my "stuff"!! LOL!!
Love your Post!!

Patience certainly is the key to finding that perfect piece. I know that I am very low on that gift, but also know better than to pray for more. I'll keep an open eye for anything French. Take care.

I have a love for all things vintage, but not so much in my decorating sense. I appreciate a few antique or worn looking pieces of furniture, but I have a more Scandinavian approach to decorating. Actually, I like a bit of everything...a true Gemini. Have a wonderful week, Marietta.

I wish I could tell you where to find something fabulous. I too, have been finding the prices to be outrageous. As for the rest of your post. Loved it! Sometimes I look around, shake my head, and think I sure wouldn't have done whatever 20 years ago.
Imperfection is cozy.

Tarnished Silver is my thing too! I love my silver ice buckets...use them for my topiaries. And, I could go on and on about my silver trays....have them all over the house! Nice blog!

I always appreciate the "clean" look when we travel, visit others homes and those homes on the blogs. Calm. Restful. White. Organized to a T. But then I come home. Back to reality. Lots of color. Lots of collections. Lots of ... can you say "Potential" - spelled M. E. S. S.

We all live our lives and envy others', no matter what shape, size, color. And apologize for our desires, weaknesses, and choices.

Go figure.

Best quote I've heard recently:
"Without comparison, we would all be content!" So true, on so many levels.....xo xo

Well, if you like old things that show their ware then you would really like me....lol I feel the same way you do about things being brought from the past and used in the present. I don't think I have too many things around my house that don't come with a story, a memory, a past. It is so comforting,
Blessings,
Sharon

Hmmm seems like I saw a segment yrs ago on tv where rubber stamps were used to make old style pillows with printing --STAZ _ON
ink is permanent - just iron it -- after stamping --be sure to use parchment paper etc - between iron and ink !! a tea dyed pillowcase -- print -- then wonderful buttons sewn on as closures on the open side would be lovely (uh I do not sew and certainly not buttonholes --so I would velcro-inside or use ribbon for tying ends also loving black ticking -- then sew, stamp or embroider an initial on a rectangle of muslin -- KAthy - ga ♥
