Pasttime Grandeur

Yesterday afternoon... a few more searches and sorting... I priced paper doll ornaments I had created over the past year and placed them carefully in plastic bags to be able to sustain the ordeal of a garage sale...
I was somewhat blown away by finding a celluloid box I had packed away... It is larger than most... 16"long x 4" high... The fact that I don't remember purchasing it ... it came from a Antique shoppe... I think I may have gotten it when I was moving in here to live... and it was packed and not unpacked... I purchased many found objects for resale in my little area of the shoppe when I was still employed...I am so glad I did find it... I appreciate the aged color... I found a treasure I already spend my hard earned money on... How divine.... This sweet little gem of yesteryear has lovely detail on it... I am not sure of the original use of the box because of it's size... Most celluloid boxes were used for hankies and gloves... I will most likely use it to tuck sweet little objects of the past into... Possibly include a pair of vintage gloves just in case that was it's use... I certainly have a love for old things... They just have such an appeal to me... Beautiful old boxes create a slightly romantic style which is very appealing to me when tucked with antique and vintage treasures... The dream of pastime grandeur is always on my mind.. Remembering little things do count... I always acquaint monograms on vintage lines as once belonging to people with wealth and prestige... Making use of monogrammed linens seem to be like a fairytale... A dream that emanates romance and tranquility. Vintage objects we believed to be of great grandeur when children are now so ready available in antique stores and flea markets to make a dramatic life... All this allowing ourselves not to adopt a factory made style.... but one all our own...
TIP.... leaving lovely old linens lying out for all to see just adds charm... even if they are used in their everyday way and just folded and stacked...
Remember always leave yourself open for tips and inspiration... I am always so very happy for inspiration I acquire from you and am hopeful once in awhile you can be inspired by me... Whether it be in everyday life or the love of decorating as both create a much more charming and lovely life.... Enjoy it today.......
