Sweet Confiseries

When we bring family and friends into our homes we love to make it a extra sweet experience... It is always exciting creating special confiseries to enjoy, engaging in focus points.. Seems my themes seem to revolve around timeworn of the past... maybe creating somewhat unique and inspirational... but always transporting to a different era of time...
Yesterday was no different when I found myself adding found antique shop objects to my home... I added yet one more confiserie of a charming Whitting and Davis mesh purse of the past... This little sweetie is 4" x 4" not adding the chain and id in excellent vintage condition... The Whitting and Davis company was founded in 1876 in Plainsville, Mass.... and remains world known for the making of it's high quality mesh bags.... The purses from the 20's and 30's are particularly high valued... Some sell for thousands... my smaller collections, maybe hundreds...The bags are always marked... I am not sure of the era of this bag but it is a later year than some I possess... I am thinking late 30's or 40's... I will research it and add a note in the bag .....
Then in the Jeanne d' Ark Living style I acquired this old bread pudding mold made in England on the marking... Many of the lovely pictures in this magazine that has so much appeal to me includes the use of molds of different types .... This mold will be sweet tucked on a shelf... set atop a little stemmed cake plate or just used...
And then there was the real sweet confiserie.... I labored in the kitchen making this scratch Banana Creme Pie... May I serve you up a slice?????
The sun is making it's appearance this morning to what appears to be a lovely day... I am off to accomplish something of good today...
Ps. Tom is off burying his money in the ground... He told his banker it wasn't worth anything in stocks or investments so he was just going to bury some of it in the ground.... And wow... he did.... what a chunk.... He is off helping over to the other farm he owns.... putting field tile in... Hopefully it will increase the production of the ground with God's wishes for good weather...... Wishes for a peaceful... calm and pleasant day for all...... Blessings.....

Love all your pretties hanging on your wall too. Your purses are special and I can tell that you take great care of them as well as the rest of your treasures.

I am sure that I have a old soul! I can walk by new stuff and think how pretty. But let me loose in a antique store and I am where I belong. The feel of old paper, the smell of old books, the tea cup that has a little stain from it's use. I always think about the people that have used the object, so I loved that you put a picture of your Aunt with all these lovely old things. I wish you a really good weekend...Hugs, Mary
