Taking Inspiration

Fresh baked bread.... Pain cuit au four frais ....... Taking inspiration from Jeanne d' Ark yet one more time.. I found a different appeal for my little faux loafs of bread also hiding in the back closet I sorted through... I had purchased several dozen of these loaves of bread from Chicago gift mart for the flower shop to display on a harvest table for fall .... I do wish I would have purchased a couple more for myself but I did bring these home... I haven't used them for a couple years and only used them for fall but this works for a change for me now at NO COST... I leaf through the pages of my Jeanne d' Ark magazine almost daily and came upon these couple pages and the light bulb came on... Remembering the loaves of bread in storage "Oh my, I can certainly obtain this look" were my thoughts... I loved the bread loaf in the brown sack and burlap { I used a piece of some of the grain sacks that I had cut up that weren't in the best of shape}.... tied with twine and lace.... This is a rather unique little addition of eye confiserie when serving family and friends... It would be sweet with snacks of cheeses and strawberries tucked in on stemmed cake and serving plates at different levels... Get the picture? TIP... if you don't have an access to the faux loaves of bread you can purchase fresh loaves of bread for as little as a dollar apiece and place them on a cookie sheet in a oven on LOW temperature for 5 or6 hours or till dried out... I have done this several times and they last indefinitely... I have also coated them with a poly spray for long lasting but like them better not shinny....These little vignettes create mood and retire the boring kitchen or areas of desire for placing... I can feel the warm and inviting smell of freshly baked bread.... Yum... I just may have to get my bread machine out of storage... I would use it if I had it setting out much more but I really don't have a place to put it as it is very large.. So back in the box it goes and out of sight... out of mind.... more stash...
Once again today it is suppose to be a very lovely day... I am going to open the doors and let the fresh air flow and clean house and do laundry... Tom just left for the golf course and said he wouldn't be back for dinner but would be for supper... He was going to play all morning and then play senior scrambles this afternoon... I told him well I guess I will be home for dinner and cleaning house and doing his laundry... I said what a different life style we live...something wrong with this picture... I think it just flew right over his head.... Sometimes I wonder of a man realizes how many hours of our life we place in trying to make a home... Oh well, I am happy the sun is shinning and I have a home that I can care for as many don't so it's.. smile... be thankful and get cleaning... Blessings....

Marietta it all looks just wonderful! You sure know how to put a table together and I love that you didn't have to spend any money to do it. Enjoy!
