Longings

Last evening we had some storms come through our area .... Oh my, I have hugh messes to clean up as soon as I have posted today....washing the windows...sweep the decks and landings...wipe everything off... oh just repeat all the chores I completed yesterday... The sun is shinning... once again giving a dose of what we long for only with storms in the forecast for the coming days..
As I look in the mirror at the reflections I see my silvery hair and notice my slowing motions... sometimes almost awkward compared to the youth and coordination's I once developed in this body.. I am aware I will have to make some changes... I need to do evaluating on what would really make the void of a aging body happy and content... I truly know what it is and need to consider how to achieve it.... I really, really, have such a desire for a small space all my own... A place where I can create and dream and have girly and misfit stuff. I was reading Heather's blog post the past evening..http://prettypetals.typepad.com about her saying her husband is freaking out about the vintage screen door she hauled home and into their living room... To me this is a wonderful piece of eye candy for a small space we girls like to call our own... I did pull off having a screen door in our back garden space with a clematis vine climbing around on it... but I don't believe Tom would particularly love it in the living room space... We do have to remember it is also their space and crunch some of these ambitions and ideas... And then there is the lovely post of Elizabeth of which I read and viewed several times.... I was just in awe of this space... She is featured in ... "Where Women Create" for May... http://elizabethhousestlouis.blogspot.com and soon will have a a new web site... Okay I will keep my drool and whining somewhat to myself... If I could develop even a fraction of these spaces I would be in bliss. and of course don't forget I go.. goo goo... when I visit http://myshabbystreamsidestudio.blogspot.com also... Then I am totally in love with everything that Mark and Susie Holt create... Oh by the Way did you know that they have changed their business name from " The Cat's Meow" to "Posh On Palm"... I had to think about that for a moment but it is as unique as the both of them are... I don't know ... but I must have fell out of bed on my head to think I could ever have anything this grand... Maybe I just best quit the posting and got buy a lottery ticket or go searching for four leaf clovers... In the meantime I will go to the rec room... create a big mess... and try to enjoy what is available to me... Even the aging has to have a dream... Holding that thought... you know sometimes they do come true... After all it is one of my favorite things... dreaming... Creating a timeless allure... Creating for me nourishes my soul and I know God wants us to us our talents... all this adding inspiration and have the desire to continue to have this force entwined in my life. Yes ,I can complete my scrapping in the table in the rec room but I certainly have desire for more... Till then I will continue to view and enjoy all the lovely spaces of others ... as I do realize this is not necessities .... just wants.... well just as my little reminder says in the pic.... I must "Keep Calm And Carry On".......

Hi Marietta, thanks for all the links to those pretty blogs. I go through those stages when my wishes and dreams get the better of me. Like you, then I remember that I've got a pretty great life. I like that Keep Calm pic and when my cursor turns into hearts on your beautiful blog. Smile and carry on! Sally

I have an old door that is propped up in our bedroom. I keep it decorated with vintage lace and other fancies.
I will check out these websites, thanks.
I found this post today I thought you might enjoy. I really want to make one of these...
