Magazine Heaven

I received my copy of Victoria magazine yesterday... Oh my this issue is a soaker for hours in the tub... Just oiled with inspiration to absorb.... I received my copy of Romantic Homes a week or so ago but didn't barely get my foot wet with the same appeal... I am not going to subscribe for the magazine another year... If I see it on the rack and flip through it I may buy an occasional one but have found myself very discourage to the new approach to the magazine and yearn for the pages as they were in the past.... I know some really like the newer style of the magazine but for me they took away the love.... Victoria offers a relaxing time of wonderful eye candy and lovely words... Many times I draw inspiration from objects displaying and am able to simulate something similar with objects I already have... Viewing lovely objects always becomes an inspiration... Looks as though time may be spent in the home today as the skies aren't too promising... I desire the weather to become more stable and the tree droppings to be finish.... the pool cannot be opened until all this cycle completes... as the filter would clog and the water discolor.... so more patience is required... I have more work to complete with sorting and pricing and getting ready for a sale... It won't be until June... I was able to get in a couple golf games the past couple days... Friday and Saturday... You know that rust I love on my objects to display... well lets say I acquired that rust and patina over winter months on me... My driving is fine but the rest of the game I need to salvage ... as it seems to be quite antique.... Hope your day will be pleasant... I believe mine to be going to consist of... oh yes... we are going to Jewell Legion Hall to enjoy a Swiss steak dinner out on by the members there... We always enjoy the small community gathering and the food is always very good... I have some more hand-made cards to complete and then I think I will pull out the magazine..... It will be blogs and magazine time.... Oh I think I will watch some golf on TV while creating the cards...

I agree with you about those two magazines. I don't care for Romantic Homes. I used to pick it up at the store but not much lately. But I nearly drop everything to read my new Victoria mag. Have a good Sunday. Sally

Love all your grain sack creations. Your outdoor space is so lovely. I enjoyed your reflections on simplicity. I am a homebody and crave peace and solitude. My kids say I am old and boring. HA! Some of my friends think I am a hermit. I much prefer "home" wherever it may be rather than the noise and chaos that the world creates. Wishing you a day of peace and blessings, Tammy

Got a minute here to comment before I take off again to church for the tea party.
I agree with you about the Romantic Homes magazine. I don't have a subscription anymore either and only buy the ones on the rack that I love. I wish they would go back to the old style too. It was just lovely! Now I need to look for the new Victoria also. LOVE pretty magazines!
Happy Sunday!!

I just had to comment on those bath soakers - are they to die for or what? Thanks for stopping by my blog - you are too cute. I always freak out when I see your photo and read your profile that you are 69??? Did I read that right? It always catches me off guard - I mean, like REALLY off guard.

You always make me smile.

Thanks for sharing!
Love,
Elizabeth

Hi, I don't have a blog, but I love to read everyone else's blogs. I have been buying Romantic Homes magazine for at least 13 years and I agree with you! The photos in this magazine are horrible! The magazine is becoming very contemporary! We need Eileen Paulen to come back as the editor. After my subscription is up, I do not plan on subscribing again. I'm with you, Victoria Magazine is beautiful and I am so glad it is in publication again. Thanks for your beautiful blog! Leslie A., Canton, GA

I love the look of your blog! So old~fashioned and pretty.
I agree with you about Romantic Homes ~ I used to love it when a new issue came out. Nowadays it seems like a magazine geared towards shop owners, not to mention there are way too many ads. For the most part I don't care for the homes they feature, nothing romantic about them at all.
I love Victoria ~ I think at least they are making an attempt to return to the old style. I love it when they have quotes ~ I think that's where I found my love of poetry.
