Ramblings

Seemed to be a full weekend and yesterday was not as planned but those days happen. Tree roots have grown into our septic tank and while doing laundry the water from the washer over flowed from the stool in the utility room... Of course my plans for Monday and arranging my Christmas Village in the picture window was somewhat disturbed... I had washed the windows inside and out and cleaned the screens ... hauled all the villages and accessories from the storage room in the basement and then the flood came.... We are awaiting the workers not as they have to clean the lines today with some equipment... Just another unexpected happening as we journey through what we call life...
The village was completed about 7:00 last evening in time to bathe and jump into jammies and watch " Dancing With The Stars" and "Castle" before retiring for the day...
Sunday all day my son and his daughter were here for a day of activity ... food... and sharing.... Above picture...
Today may not be very organized as we wait for workers and hopefully will make a trip to town for groceries... Tomorrow late morning I have a appointment with my heart doctor... Just a bit of scrambled for the next couple days...
I have a couple areas to tuck in some Christmas and get my smaller main tree in place and decorate and I will be pretty well completed for the decorating... I do not place much out of doors as you have to place everything with nuts and bolts due to the elements so that won't take much time... I will be anxiously awaiting as you all start sharing your decorating... Are you a theme decorator? Color.... flower...angel... food... country or a theme like mine with some of the same use of colors with tucks of vintage and sparkle....
I think the food theme to be really cute for kitchen and eat in areas... Candy canes, popcorn, gingerbread's, chocolates, fruits, cranberries, and many others make a theme of eye candy and one to warm the heart... One Christmas a few years ago I made a Tea theme.. It had vintage silver spoons tied on with pink ribbons..tea cups from a collection...I glittered tea bags and hung them over branches, added gingerbread cookies and silver cutters to marry with the silver spoons.... { silver spoons can have ends glittered also if you want them to just be used for ornaments} and this was very budget friendly and oh so cute... Of course smaller trees are always much simpler to make into a theme tree.
Whatever your desires I will be looking forward to viewing them... As I look back in my 25 years plus as a designer and making ready retail stores I must have completed at least 225 theme threes... I wonder what the count would be on bows made... Thousands!!!!!!! Have a great day....

Oh Marietta I feel your pain. Been there a few times with the septic tank. Seems we were having to get ours pumped every two years or so when the kids were home, but amazingly we haven't had to have it done for over 6 years now! What does that tell you?? LOL
So sorry about your flood and hope today is better!
Your granddaughter is a cutie!!
Blessings~

Sorry to hear about the roots in the septic tank. I'm sure that is not a fun thing to deal with ~
I missed Dancing With The Stars last night, I'll have to tune in tonight to see who goes home. That show is about as much "reality" tv that I watch!
I guess I'm sorta a theme decorator. Pink and roses, who would have guessed! I like to take styrofoam balls and wrap vintage hankies around them ~ they make really pretty balls with the lace hanging down. I love your idea of a tea theme with the silver spoons. My kitchen runs right into the dining area which runs right into the living area so I don't have room for separate decorating themes. I think this year I will go with the roses, and teacups and lots of sparkle! Your ideas are always such an inspiration!
Saying prayers for your doctor appt tomorrow and all goes well.
Hugs))
P.S. Love the Rose Cottage sign in the photo :)
