Traditions

As Jack Frost is most definitely nipping at our noses it makes us know it is time for Christmas and family traditions that have touched our hearts through the ages...

For you with children that have a Santa list that seems a bit extreme it may be time to start a new tradition. Sit with the children and make conversation about another child or family that may not be as fortunate enough to have one gift. Make this child or family special by doing something kind or helpful even if it is baking a plate of cookies to share... We are responsible for teaching our children and grandchildren about caring and helping others. We may be pleasantly surprised ourselves to find our children will take great pleasure with helping another. Simple things such as making chocolate covered pretzels or hot chocolate and shared as a family brings love and appreciation... A wonderful way to teach is through family activity. If you do more as a family and with friends you will find yourself smiling all year long... Remember if you want to make things enjoyable and traditions it may just start with your own attitude... that spreads to others... Family is the glue that binds....Children who want too much may need to be introduced to how to create and relate and take comfort in. Life wouldn't be nearly the same without family traditions to cherish and yes to look forward to. Open your doors to involve everyone....

*Today's post pictures are little tucks of holiday mixed in with everyday objects in my home....
