Time For Vintage Laces And Timeworn Objects

Packing away lovely glass ornaments that adorned the tree cause mixed sentiments today. The tree is in the storage room and there seems to be a void spot where it stood... Last evening, New Years Eve, we managed to stay awake and watch midnight come in on the TV in New York City... Our friends and Tom and I enjoyed T-Bone steaks and all the trimmings with dutch apple pie for dessert as our lovely meal... We watched the Ohio State Men's Basketball game on TV and then played a board game and played cards until the midnight hour... Myself , I didn't actually settle down until 2:00 A.M. when I finally went to bed... Very heavy rain storms set in between 12:30 A.M. and 2:00A.M. , being very unseasonable for our area this time of year...
As I continue to place Christmas decorations in storage my thoughts are drifting to ways to make my life more enjoyable.. Doing more things I enjoy and staying on a shoe string budget. I do plan on creating more altered art projects... Blogging allows me to see many lovely objects and to attend many open house and events... and get inspiration for creating and decorating without getting in my car and having to travel.... of which I am sure I will be reducing further with the soaring gas prices over 3.00... This is very stressful to those on a limited budget and raising families.... Of course with the packing and the addition of many objects over the holiday season ... seems to come the desire to make things more simple. A warmer shade of winter belongings as we inch our way toward spring, and re-birth. Thoughts of lovely Valentine treasures such as lace, buttons, old papers, are all entering my thoughts for a change of decorating staying within very warm tones. Relaxing spaces where deep breathes can be taken and enjoyed.. Soft music fills the background as we create our places for different loved objects... Time for vintage laces and timeworn objects.

Beautiful thoughts Marietita. We are having a great time at my son's, however I fell asleep and did not ring in the new year! LOL

Can you believe how warm it is here in Ohio on New Years Day? I am sick on the sofa so it is not making much of a difference to me what the temperatures are outside. The tree is down now, thanks to my hubby....I supervised from the sofa. Your New Years Eve sounded so nice with your friends and a wonderful dinner! Enjoy your 1st weekend of the new year! ~ Hugs, Patti

Marietta,
I like the way you put that; bring myself more enjoyment in the new year...what a super focus!
Aren't those Buckeyes doing wonderfully in BB this year? Good for them!

I spent a quiet New Years eve at home this year too. I like it that way. We've been relaxing and wathching the Twilight Zone marathon on ScyFy channel and my brother and sister in law came over for a few games of Yahtzee. My daughter and I watched the ball drop on TV while my husband lay next to me snoring. A nice and quiet weekend. While I love decorating for the holidays I am ready to put it all away and get my house back to normal. I have alot of new decorating ideas planned and can't wait to start!
Happy New Year!

We always ring in the new year in a very quiet fashion. Most often snug and warm in our beds fast asleep. I'm ready to put the holiday decorations away. When the tree goes, there is always a plant to take its place. I have a thing about empty spaces and corners. :) Happy new year! Wishing you simple joys all year long. Tammy

Dear Marietta,
Wishing you a wonderful New Year!
I too am already thinking of Valentine's Day ~ I LOVE this holiday. Go figure, right, all the pinks and roses!
After putting the decorations away I want a lighter pastel look.
Your dinner sounded wonderful!
