Inspiration For Altered Art

Yesterday afternoon I relaxed and enjoyed finding inspiration in my stash to create this piece on a old, old, falling apart book cover... When I chose to rip a book I make sure I use it all at some time or other... Always using the pages in some way for card making or other altered art projects.. This with other objects was created to replace existing Valentines in one of my glass cloches in another week after the Holiday of Love... The result turned out real sweet... Almost everything I create is re-cycled as you know doing that becomes a passion. I devour my magazines and blogs, page to page, and story to story, sparking inspiration for something that stays within my budget... I so enjoy changing objects around , not having to purchase new.. As you noticed with most of my objects I do not use allot of color... I love aged and timeworn. I don't mind mixing different periods, staying with little or no color in my style makes it all work, at least for me... Many times I find black to be a great anchor color. especially with antique timeworn and vintage...
Just a short post today as I am off to complete a few chores before attending Tinora girls make up basketball game at noon and off to Archbold from there to attend Tinora guys basketball game at 6... We will catch a bite in between time... Busier day than normal for us today but I am off to enjoy it.....

I am so impressed with how you take old things and make them so new and beautiful. You have just given me a wonderful idea for something to do for a glass jar I am decorating for Valentine Day. Thanks so much for sharing.

I picked up some old books from an antique store last weekend....I am hoping to use them in someway like you do. I like what you did with yours. Freezing rain here this morning. More snow tomorrow?? Hoping to get out today to visit some antique stores. Have a good weekend!~ Hugs, Patti

Marietta,
That is a lovely valentine creation...I love it's delicacy!

I hope your snow is melting and I gather it is somewhat since you went to the basketball. I'm ready for spring; how about you?

A wonderful way to love something all over again. I'm sure if books and pictures could speak they'd thank you for the new lease of life. xx
