Welcome To My World

Welcome to my world this morning... Last evening as the snow, blowing, ice and sleet made itself known in our area I prepared for the worse... filling the bathtub with water... extra drinking water filled in many gallon jugs... flashlights filled with new batteries... generator was fired up making sure of proper working order... heater set out for use... the better safe than sorry mode.. Will leave these items available to us throughout the week... The winds for now have calmed but the lovely snow is continuing... It is beautiful but has cancelled and closed up businesses and schools and events have been cancelled to allow the road crews to work long hours and clean up crews to do their jobs..I feel very fortunate we didn't lose power.. and will do some cooking and continue to create Valentines this afternoon... I have shared with you a pic from my patio window in the kitchen and dining area of my home and Tom taking the first swipe through our driveway as he continues to push and blow snow ...... Most of the Valentines I created for the grand kids are taken from Valentines of the 1950's era ... all of which I remember giving and receiving as a child... The boxes of candy are filled and awaiting wrapping and addressing for mailing out next week...
The snow blower and garden tractor is grunting and groaning as it makes it's way through about a 3 foot drift in the driveway... gee, seems as though I should give it some carrots or something... LOL The neighbors horses have been running and a kicking up their back legs this morning as I see them make their way through the drifts in their pasture... They are out playing as if they were children... The only traffic on the roads are the iron horses with blades and snow blowers making their way cleaning lanes and driveways... Snowplows have been out on the road all night and all day... I myself will be remaining in the comfort of my home and peering out the window from time to time to view the beauty of the season.... I have shared with you pretty much what my world is like today but all is well.... Hope you are all safe and warm... Blessings....

Marietta, I can sure relate to your snow. I have pictures posted too. It won't get over 10 degrees here today, so I won't be going out either. I adore your valentines, your grandchldren will surely love them.

We woke up to 43 degrees but now the temps have dropped and the wind is howling with flakes blowing around fast and furious. I just went out to pick up my blowing trash cans for the second time this morning. Hopefully they are secure this time. I do have to do one errand to the bank today but after that will hunker down for this weather episode to pass. Stay warm and enjoy those Valentines!~Hugs, Patti

My world looks just about like yours. My car is stilled heaped in snow so I am for the day. Catching up on some blog time and tying a quilt for one of my granddaughters. Stay safe and warm and enjoy.
