Compassion

As I continue to gather objects to make small changes in vignettes ect.. my thoughts have been with area towns that once again are experiencing major flooding... Many are in shelters and out of their homes.. Businesses are under water causing job loss and devastation. The stories and coverage of these things as they are happening weigh heavy in my mind and in my heart.. I so wish for all of them to be back into a warm and safe home as soon as possible... I am so very thankful for my warm home...A place to rest and have nourishment...
I enjoy using mirrors. I have a couple hanging used as they are originally intended but I really love using them laying on tabletops with lovely glass and rhinestones for added sparkle a top... Another favorite is the use of vintage and antique glass stemmed cake plates re- purposed to hold glass cloches and vintage items ... for elevation in displaying in vignettes... Apothecary jars and candy dishes are most like to be holding lovely attic treasure as lace, papers, buttons and other finds... Candy dishes and jars can be readily found at low end thrift shops ... brought home and cleaned till sparkling... for a very budget friendly amount... These finds are wonderful with crinkle ribbons and altered art tags and salvaged trinkets hanging from them for added eye candy.. Finding inventive ways to display and make ordinary have that extra touch of glam.... Sending best of thoughts and wishes you are in or coming home to a warm and cozy home... Blessings....

Our area creek is flooding it's banks. But I saw some young girls yesterday found an area to practice their socker...I too wish anyone out of their homes because of the flooding will be warm and safe soon!

Your post made me want to visit a thrift shop! ;-D

Dear Marietta,
How have you been?
I know there can be such devastation from mother nature. I am so grateful for the home we have now. The thing is, there is always a new diaster in the news. One diaster leaves our mind because there is always something else. But it can takes years for people to get back on their feet. There are still people down here rebuilding their homes 5 years after Katrina. Visitors to the area will say ~ but that hurricane was years ago and just shake their heads.
Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful cozy day. I love old apothecary jars ~ that is something I will have to look out for when I go antiquing!
Hugs))

Flood water scares me Marietta. I have heard too many stories of people driving through water over the road and then being swept away. I pray the people get back in their homes soon. I can't imagine going through this for several years in a row. I am thankful for my warm home too!
Blessings~

Hello,
I enjoy your blog, but it is so hard to read. Am I the only one finding that? Thank you. Alice
