A Small Treasure

Last Saturday I visited a antique shop in Defiance and purchased this shaker... The tag said it was a sugar shaker but I am not so sure of that... It is not as large as normal sugar holders and I think it may have been from a dresser set... maybe a powder shaker? Anyway I thought it was lovely and brought it home to abide with us in our little abode... Finding inspiration can sometimes be difficult. Photos and lovely glassware of old always seem to bring a room to charm in my eyes... Collecting what I love, no matter how quirky it may seem to others... brings little tucks of happiness. It is truly very important however that we so live in a home that is fully functional ... We must insure ourselves not to have all our usable space taken up with items that are not useful... Cost effective objects are always a great choice as you won't feel as guilty when you give them a rest for awhile.... As I post this morning ... the skies are very dark and hazy... Saturday we are suppose to have some sunshine and warm temps... I have washing windows on my schedule for that day... Soon I will be making my menu and list for shopping for Easter and Easter treats....

I think little things mean a lot. And I think you are right, it is to small for a sugar shaker, but no matter what it is, it makes you happy and that is all that counts. Sometimes I think old things just call our name, as if to say, make me of use again. Have a great week, Mary
