Do You Ever Feel Like You Need A Hide-A-Way?

Do you ever feel like you need to go to a hide-a-way? I just need a very small bag for a little break.... I have come to the conclusion before and now know I look forward to the ideas of summer but when it actually arrives most times I find myself not really enjoying it much... For instance... I put all the hoses we own together and made my way out to the wilting garden to try to save the plants as they try to blossom and wilt as the same time due to our lack of rain now... I hate the fact that this food is suffering and much nourishment will go to waste if I don't try to help it... As I went about this deed the flies... mosquitoes and bugs in general just attack me... I was so hot and overwhelmed with it all ... I just went for a dip in the pool for several minutes to get refreshed... I was just plain miserable and find myself this way allot of the time...
I had wishes for a place to run away and hide and be surrounded with quiet times and lovely objects... I find this hard to do sometimes in the confines of your home as guilt of chores to be done creeps in... Ok, I am admitting I really really don't like summer and anything above about 82 degrees becomes a real challenge for me...
I love collecting vintage but need to only purchase a object that become family.. Otherwise it all just becomes junk... especially when acting on impulse... Since I really can't afford a trip to Paris and my desires would be to add some more French in my home those desires become a bit snuffed also... The only thing that seems to be left is the use of some creativity... I have several cards to make this month for all different occasions... pillows I started to finish... and sale items to be sorted and priced plus everyday chores to be accomplished... Seems to be far too many things for the hot... hot... days in the forecast to come....
I was able to go to the garden this morning and get my first picking of green beans and now have them snapped and cleaned and in the kettle and bacon frying for green beans, bacon, and potatoes for supper tonight... One cucumber was ready for picking so he is sliced and setting in brine for this noons lunch with a burger.... the aroma of the bacon and greens beans as they are cooking in the kettle is beginning to fill the house with a wonderful aroma of homemade seems to make things some what more relaxed... I may have to take a few moments to refresh in the pool this afternoon as I try to complete my daily chores....Many times the refreshment of cool pool water renews our body and our spirit and seems I need all the assistance I need as we pass through these summer dry days... Sending you all blessings and best wishes and may all your dreams come true... Rain is on the top of my wish list and hopes.... as it does seem to refresh everything that surrounds us....

Some lime squash would be lovely to cool down a little Marietta (and to stop doing too many chores, only the things that really really really need to be done ;-) We women ALWAYS HAVE to do things (or so we keep telling ourselves). Take your time my friend! Hugs, Ira

Yummm...the beans snd bacon sound wonderful! I've spent most of these hot summer days inside sewing although I do venture out to walk the dogs:). I'm glad to hear you will be back our way again this year. Maybe we can meet for lunch:).

Blessings,

Kim
