It's Like This

Well it's like this..... did ya just ever feel that way????? I don't really feel this way but I thought it was pretty darn cute...... I am home from the doctors office and have a smile on my face cause I wasn't going to let myself feel down if all didn't go like I wanted it to..... Well , it didn't go like I wished... but I am still here and going to be on my way in another day.... I have to continue on all my meds and did get another prescription plus added to what I am already taking. I am not suppose to start it until I arrive and get settled in Florida, guess he didn't want to chance dizzy affects till I am on stable ground..... Little does he know..... I get a little giddy now and then from natural effects... Tee hee hee... Seriously... he said the heart seems strong... we just can't seem to get the blood pressure under control... Well just thought I would share the update.... Looking to me like sharing some fun in the sun might be a good things right now..... To be continued....

Our Love Affair... With Vintage

Our love affair..... with vintage.... Never underestimate the power of vintage. This type of collections can be a real stand out... rugged...weathered... timeworn can be mixed with many decors. Go ahead mix it... match it... layer and blend it.... Like all great couples it adds alittle spice to life... don't over look anything... look at it fir re-purpose... Paint it... turn it over... turn it up-side down... create a unique look... get inspired by your little vintage find... Salvaged objects are s real trend setter right now and oh the beauty in some of these pieces makes your heart go faster..... { OH MY>>> I think I just felt mine add a few extra beats right now... That's scary!!!!!}
The magic is in the mix... of sweet nostalgia..... All this mix in my eyes are best suited to a very neutral background... but in no way appearing bland... only adding definition... Vintage adds to our kick-your-shoes-off home......

Ideas and Inspiration....

Ideas and inspiration.... Being obvious with our organizing can also showcase our homes......
A perfect way of being obvious is the use of a canning or great half gallon or gallon glass jar holding food products. The jars can hold everything from cookies to crafting supplies.... Don't want to spend money for a glass cloche at this time..... I used a half gallon olive jar and turned it upside down... ties a soft crinkle ribbon around area that lid attaches and sat it on a lovely 8" pink rose vintage plate and tucked a pink Santa inside for a holiday look... It was really sweet... { sorry I don't have photo} Outside living I use allot of glass jars.... For holding candles....flowers.... and pint jars for serving a iced tea or lemonade... Oh dear... in entered my barefoot living again...
Antique ceiling tins and old tin trays of all kinds can be a loved piece of decorating and double as a magnetic board.... a great place to ad a old photo or a lovely tag...
Just a couple ideas for a well-loved-cozy-relaxed home... with a touch of your unique personality... with this kind of thinking, about every 6 months you can have a new house and still live in the one that everyone loves... especially you.....

Off To The Doctor

Just enjoyed a relaxing bath and getting ready to be off to my last doctor's appointment before we depart for our month in the sun..... No matter how relaxed I was in the bath I now feel somewhat nervous as I think about going to the doctor... Just hope my blood pressure is somewhat better today. I have a cuff I use here at home and it has been much better....
The sun is shinning here and we are suppose to have a warm up in our area as we get ready to leave but it will be nice for friends and neighbors who we will leave behind..... Hope to do another post before we leave as I have to find a Internet source when we get down there so I may be MIA for awhile....

Got A Dime

Oh my... it is getting to be more and more the thought of all Americans... Hey ... mister... got a dime????? I honestly think more and more of us are beginning to think of ways to decorate on a dime. I actually can say it is nothing new to my way of living. I have always thought that way.... I read so many that are actually enjoying finding the treasures and decorating till their hearts content.... I have a special blogging friend Sandihttp://waysidetreasures-sandi.blogspot.com/ has experienced several recent changes and still wears a smile on her face and faith in her heart.. If you haven't visited this lovely blog ... please stop in .... Sandi has also been recently featured on vignette of the month.... Many of us are having changes come knocking at our door..... I guess the only way to answer is let them in... deal with them and keep on decorating....

When decorating on a dime you can still achieve great romantic fabrics with uses of finds of sheets..tablecloths...bedspreads....and curtains... Many other creative sources are hiding in little stacks in our favorite places... Using items like these can achieve a vintage inspired cottage with just the right romantic twist... Timeworn great built furniture can be also painted to fit any decor. Mismatched works if you love it... I personally like to stay in the same color tones but have also viewed some beautiful places that have mixed bold colors... The goal is to fill the home with love...

I do believe our home speaks to us and tells us it is alittle worn out and gives us a nudge to make changes... freshen up... and move things around... These nudges do not have to compound a already saturated economy and create any further problems however if you keep to the dime thought process.Let your mind dream and be creative... create your vision... Personally I love the BLING of crystals tucked in my BAREFOOT living style... be true to yourself and use objects that are useful and that you love.... And last but not least.... SHARE your ideas and photos with your blogger family.....

Packing Day

Today is another day of packing and making notes of what has to be completed yet..... I am getting to the point now where I am ready to get on the road just to quit thinking about the trip. Our friends we are sharing the condo with... Fran and Jeannie just called and they just left a few minutes ago... They are going to spend a couple extra days visiting some friends along the way.... Tom and I are just going to stay in motel a couple nights til we get the trip in. We have someone here at the house so all will be well.

When Someone Does Something Nice

When someone does something very nice for you and it is so unexpected... how do you say thank you.... I would love to acknowlegde Christinehttp://christineannette.blogspot.com for my new look on my blog... She designed it for me and wished me a happy belated birthday.... I am so pleased and it was so very ,very sweet...... Thank you Christine...

Blogging.. A Special Gift To Go

Blogging... A Special Gift To Go... I can come into your home and sit at different areas of your home and talk about our common problems, family and friends, crafts, and collections. Maybe never completely solve them, as I am no brain, but just a friend... I think it is the most wonderful thing, blogging entwined in our family life , worry and woe can be shaken out ... and life's wear and tear can be hung out to fly. I think blogging for most of us has placed some change in our life and thank God I do not have to leave it behind. I can still have alittle of Dolly Parton in me and add some BLING to my blue jeans......

Mixed Emotions

Can a farm girl be too happy??? So happy it makes our cheek muscles ache. Sometimes that is how I feel about my home , especially now that it is becoming close to departing for Florida.... { because Tom wanted to know what it was like to be the JONES } I know how to play on the farm and my surroundings. Farm girls are always playful ya know. I am not so sure of myself when I start to get too far out of my territory, when it seems like such a long journey when I am happy with a sweet treat, blue jeans, and a lemonade. I will certainly miss my little home... our freezing and cold and drafty hours spent indoors by the fireplace, only to be like gelatin and melt into the sun, to find a new life just begun...
OLD CHINESE PROVERB.... " A hundred men may make a encampment, but it takes a woman to make a home"
I think this old proverb may say it all for allot of us ladies who really love our home.....
Some will say... be smart... visit the desert in the winter, the canyons in the spring, the mountains in the summer, and the forest in the fall.... or be a farm girl and forget them all......

Sweet Easter Image

I think this image would make a sweet Easter Tag.....

Fancy Bonnets

Fancy bonnets were once a required appearel for a Easter parade or walk to church on Sunday morning. I love old photos bringing back the past....

Seasons Bring Inspiration

As I sit and peer around my home it seems to be very winter-weary... I look at what seems to be hundreds of little found at flea markets and antique shops objects for decorating and making vignettes it seems I need to refresh my surrounding. I know upon my return from Florida I will want to open the windows and let the air saturate my home. To me spring is literally the air. I feel I can't accomplish the task until blossom by blossom the spring appears and the air comes through my home. Matching the satisfaction of spring... banishing all the dust from nooks and crannies... and rearranging all our little collections just in time for when the garden calls.... All this will soon be awaiting me and I am looking forward to the seasons inspiration....

Packing My Suit

Have a couple suits laying on bed to be packed in a seperate bag.... I do enjoy swimming in a pool and always get anxious when it nears time for us to open our back yard pool up for the season and take that first chilly dip.... Hopefully it will not be a chilly dip when we arrive at our destination... Oh well... there is always the hot tub... Oh my the thought of that right now sounds like a dream.... I guess I will just have to endulge in another oil bath before attending the Tinora boys basketball game.... this evening. I so enjoyed my Victoria magazine last evening while relazing in hot yummy oils.....

Planning A Visit

I will be leaving my furs behind and heading out for Florida in a few days... The one plan I have that is a must see is I plan on visiting Susie http://www.catsmeowinc.com/ in Venice Florida during our stay... I have read articles and viewed pictures of their lovely shop and I am so looking forward to the visit .

Lovely Indulgences

I received my Victoria Magazine in the mail this morning and was leafing through it to see what I may find in it to be excitied about as I will take it to the bathtub tonight and soak in bath oils and bubbles and indulge in my favorite moments.
I noticed I will be in for a treat as they have a article on Vanity Fair. Beautiful pictures of Lady's boudoir. I love the indulgences of a Lady's vanity and beautiful antique and vintage collections setting in vignettes... Oh what a delight. I especially love old mirrors and perfume bottles and all kind of bling added in... The above picture shows one of my favorite vanity mirrors.... Another shows a antique box that I have added many old jewelry find to.... The frame I have pictured before is also crusted with old jewelry finds... not all in perfection but the look I love. Just love the look of sophisticated and chic all rolled into one...

A Nip Of Easter

I just placed a bunnie and a couple eggs under my glass cloche and a few miniature sparkle carrots and some paper eggs on my little 2 foot white tree , being the only object that remains from Christmas. I wasn't going to even get into the box as we will be in Florida for several weeks soon. I will be home for Easter week and be serving Easter Dinner I believe so wanted just a touch of a nip of a carrot and a bunnie present.

The Romantics

Stepping into your home... what do you see and what is the aroma????? When inviting a loved one home or a friend or family member to join you for conversation.... your seating comfortable and relaxed with elements of suprise? Life moves too fast and we need to take time and relax awhile ... proving we need to have elements in our homes. To me... no room is complete without blooms and collections... This is not for everyone... as I have a friend who says she couldn't stand all this STUFF around her but chooses to have a dog cage... food ... water... hair .... and not so great aroma surround her, hummmm. Personally I will take my dust collectors. I feel loved collections as we wake up every morning keeps our passion alive.
With my recent health problem I was finding it difficult to wake up with that romantic passion and have been missing it very much. The energy wasn't there to make it shine through. The unexpected ideas were stagnant. With the steadiness of more sunshine in our area seems to be coming back the romantic thoughts..... how Divine... just in time for valentine's day.......

The Perfect Gift....

Think of the perfect gift ... even if it is for you..... it is a gift of yourself... A loving gesture you have taken time to prepare .... Make your someone special with a lovely simple lunch with a lovely dessert served by candlelight..... The greatest gift we can receive and give is of one's self....... Take time and make your someone special swoon with delight.....
ps. We indulged with a fresh strawberry pie last evening.... since either of us would be visiting KAY'S..... Happy Valentine's Day......

Please stop by.....

Oh my gosh... if you haven't already ... you must stop by at Sherry's http://ediemariesattic.blogspot.comfor her lovely post on " A Romantic Candlelight Valentine Tea " and enjoy her lovely tea with her... It is just stunning ........
